Software Engineer C++


Software Engineer C++

Location: Troy, MI
Department: Research & Development


Responsibilities

• 3D depth calculation algorithm and SDK development in C/C++
• Software porting, integration and testing
• Analyze customer requirements and provide temporary and long-term solution
• Create sample applications, demos and documentations based on current SDK
• Development (design, implement, test and debug) new algorithms as specific requirements using maintainable and modular code that you would be proud to show to colleagues
• SDK testing and adaptation;
• Participate in regular team meetings for current backlog and challenges
• Participate project update meetings to give your project status update to management team
• Challenge your fellow team members to grow and enhance our team with new, diverse talent

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• 3+ years of experience in C/C++ development
• Experience of software development using SDK on Windows and Linux
• Experience of any camera or sensor programming
• Knowledge of digital image processing
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Desire to learn new software skills, technologies and tools.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience of GitLab or GitHub for version control
• Development experience of digital image processing
• Experience of image processing using MATLAB
• Experience of driver or API development on any platform

PCB Engineer


PCB Engineer

Location: Troy, MI
Department: Research & Development


Responsibilities
• Design Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) from schematic through physical layout.
• Perform schematic capture and board layout of PCBs
• Build prototype PCBs and perform engineering validation testing
• Assure compliance with Industry Standards, (UL,cUL, CE, IPC, etc.)
• Document and management of PCB design files and product specs.
• Collaborate and work with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and other co-workers as required.
• Participate in engineering design reviews, analyze design specifications and understand electrical/mechanical/Optical constraints to design, and ensure cost effective designs.

Qualifications
• BSEE or MSEE from ABET-accredited institutions
• 3+ years’ work experience as a PCB Designer/Engineer
• Skilled with PCB design tools, such as Altium Designer or Protel.
• Experience with PCB design for consumer electronics
• Experience in soldering and prototyping SMT PCB and though hole PCB.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building and testing prototype PCBs
• Self-motivated, used to working independently in a very small group
• Ability to troubleshoot complex design issues and perform root cause analyses

Preferred Qualifications
• PCB design experience for camera vision systems or laser systems
• Experience with New Product Introduction

Software Engineer - Windows & Linux Device Driver Development

Responsibilities
• Design and develop new 3D sensor drivers and API on Windows x64, Linux 64 and Linux Arm system
• Closely work with hardware team for development, debugging and testing
• Mastering technical standards and specifications.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and device datasheets.
• Communicate and collaborate with other engineers to achieve task completion
• Helps estimate project task and schedules. Also provides other information to management for planning purposes
• Some other programming tasks

Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of C/C++ programming experience
• Must have 3+ years of hands on experience in device driver development.
• Experience with Microsoft’s windows UMDF and KMDF
• Experience with USB
• Proficiency and professional experience with the following:
• C/C++ software development
• Data structures and algorithms
• Multithreaded software development,
• Low-level programming and debugging experience, including drivers
• Creative, effective, and efficient problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with camera, sensor driver development
• Understanding of Microsoft’s component firmware update model (CFU) preferred

Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Windows & Linux Device Driver Development

Your Role
• Prototype innovative system solutions
• Port and optimize new algorithms on FPGA
• Design, develop and verify firmware and drivers for embedded systems
• Participate in design reviews, API development, and documentation
• Deliver reports and documents, software and driver source code, build scripts
• Perform tasks including programming, debugging and testing software on ARM platform
• Collaborate with both software and hardware development teams

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in FPGA (Verilog or VHDL)
• Experience in one of these areas: cameras, sensors and associated algorithm development
• Experience in C/C++ programming
• Experience in embedded software design, development and debugging on ARM platforms
• Capability of working independently
• Desire to learn new software skills, technologies and tools

Preferred Qualifications

Account manager is responsible for the management of sales and long-term relationship with existing customers. Should be able to address customer questions and concerns regarding Orbbec’s products, answers phone calls and reply emails from customers. Have the ability to solve or propose valid solutions brought up by customers and working with technical team to help resolve issues. Expert in company products. Job duties may include: 

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales to reach the company’s sales target
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to retain a customer-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling
  • Manage and solve conflicts with customers
  • Regular follow up to keep the customer updated.
  • Interact and coordinate with other departments working on the same account
  • Establish budgets with the customer and company
  • Meet time deadlines for accounts
  • Learning about product updates and new technologies

Qualifications
